ScottSheehanI’m responsible for company operations in the greater Seattle area. I’ve lived in Seattle for just over 18 years. I have worked at evergreen Washelli since 1997. I’m consistently amazed at how much this profession can and will surround us in all we do. Life, family, Church, friends– I carry with me at all times how important our profession is to all aspects of life and ultimately death. This profession also helps to remind us how fragile and fleeting life can be. I feel very fortunate to be a part of something special here at Evergreen Washelli. Yes, it sounds cliché, but my career is about the families we are privileged to serve and the teams of people I have had the opportunity to work with now and in the past.

Personally, throughout my career here at Evergreen Washelli, I have had the good fortune to watch my three daughters grow, learn, mature, graduate high school, work towards completion of their college degrees, and even begin careers. In my time away from the office, I can be found woodworking, fixing, building, and generally being a menace in my shop and garage. I have a strong affinity for health and fitness, reading, and happen to love old cars, hotrods and motorcycles.

Rich Winter

Director of Sales and Marketing

My career began in August of 1992, when I started working for a small, rural cemetery in the West Valley area of Yakima. Since then, I have had the opportunity of working with multiple cemeteries and funeral homes and serving hundreds of families. My area of responsibility at Evergreen-Washelli is over preneed sales and marketing, which is employed by the efforts of our Family Service, Lobby and Community Outreach teams.

I find it rewarding that I am able to directly and indirectly care for the families we are so privileged to serve. To me, customer service is more than just something we do when we need to. It is the entire experience a family receives when they use our funeral home or cemetery, from the moment they walk in the doors, to years afterward, when they are visiting loved ones in one of our beautiful cemeteries.

As a Washington native, I have grown to love the mountains and spend much of my spare time taking my two teen-aged daughters hiking and camping. It sure is tough to beat the Pacific Northwest!

BrianBraathenWe celebrate, honor, and love life. I have come to know how short life truly is, and am honored to help families/people at the time of great loss. It is important to me we do all we can to exceed the expectations of the family… they deserve nothing less. We do this by supporting our employees and helping provide the resources needed to deliver an outstanding event for all those in attendance.

I am grateful for the trust families place in us and for the opportunity to help people and their family members, at one of their most difficult and trying times in this life.

I am a lifelong resident of this area, growing up in Mukilteo. I have been married for 22 years and alongside my beautiful wife have been able to raise an awesome family… two boys and a girl. Some say they’ve given me my grey hair… others say it’s work…likely it’s the work as my kids can do no wrong.

Brenda Spicer

Cemetery Office Manager

BrendaSpicerAs the Cemetery Office Manager I oversee the administrative staff, columbarium, ordering of markers, and the scheduling of cemetery events. My job has me interacting with all depts. on a daily basis to assist and care for the families we serve, in addition to that, I handle cemetery related, tours, social media, and sit on the Veterans Cemetery Board, which is a committee of veterans that advise and plan the Memorial Day and Veterans Day event held at Evergreen Washelli.

I moved to Seattle when I was six months old. I grew up right here in this neighborhood, and I still remember the old Seattle icons—the twin teepees restaurant, Sambos, Shakey’s Pizza, Farrell’s ice cream…

I started working at Evergreen Washelli in 2007, after my father died. Seven years now, I still enjoy coming to work each and every day. It’s the warm feeling of working with family, with a common goal to serve. Not to mention, being surrounded by 155 acres of the most beautiful property in Seattle on a brisk Autumn day doesn’t hurt either.
