Dick was born in Seattle, WA on January 31, 1934 and passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2017. Raised by his Grandmother, he resided on the same parcel of land that is now in the City of Brier for all his life. He graduated from Bothell High School in 1952 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After active duty he remained in the Naval Reserves and retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After a short stint at Boeing he began his career in the lumber and hardware business working for 38 years at Knoll Lumber in Kenmore, WA. He was a charter member of the Northshore Kiwanis and a member of the Seattle Master Builders Association.
Dick enjoyed riding motorcycles both on the dirt and on the street. He raced flat track and was a Life Member of the AMA. Many memorable trips were taken on his Honda Goldwing. He passed on his love for the sport to his sons and grandchildren. Snowmobiling became his sport of choice in the winter and much time was spent on the snow. After retirement he and Rita traveled to many of the western states to ride in the powder. Many wonderful and lasting friendships were made thru these activities. Dick also enjoyed camping with family and friends year round. Dick and Rita were fans of Rodeo and Professional Bull Riding and attended many events throughout the northwest. He was an accomplished carpenter and always seemed to have a project going on.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Janice and his oldest son Steve. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Rita, sons David Pruczinski (Tina) and Darin LaBorn. Grandchildren Amy McCoy (Cody), Dustin Pruczinski (Ashlee), Alec Pruczinski and Chloe Pruczinski. Great grandchildren Racelee and Rozlyn McCoy and Finlee and Liam Pruczinski. Brother Stanley Pruczinski (Liz) and nieces and nephews.
Dick was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an honest and hard working man and his wife Rita's best friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. An Open House will be held to celebrate his life at his home in Brier at a later date.
