Jessie Louise Dixon
March 05, 1925 - March 09, 2010
Jessie Louise Dixon, 85, died March 9th in Bothell, Washington after a long illness. She was born in Stewartsville, Missouri on March 5, 1925 to Ernest Freling and Elva Piepergerdes. Her family later relocated to Colorado where Jessie lived during her younger years and then moved to the west coast during WWII. Jessie met her husband, Ralph Dixon in California and they were married on March 3, 1946 in Houston, Texas. They had one son, Phillip, who was born in 1947. They moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1950, where Jessie lived until 2002. After her husband’s death she moved to Delta, Colorado for a short time and was able to fulfill her dream of living close to her sisters again.
Jessie is survived by her son, Phillip and his wife, Karen; two grandsons Bryan and Joel; great-granddaughter, Chloe; sister June Dickerson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and three sisters.
Jessie loved animals and delighted in the beauty of the outdoors. She especially enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband and friends.
Jessie had a unique ability of making people feel special and loved. She blessed family, friends, neighbors and many people that she met while working as a grocery checker with her gift of cheerfulness and compassion. Jessie had a strong faith in Christ and had a determination to live her life in a way that would help others and please the Lord. Although she will be missed by her family and friends, we know she is in heaven, well once again, and we rejoice with her.
