July 22, 1943 - August 18, 2013
Carlos G. Reyes, at the age of 70, passed away , Sunday, August 18th, 2013, in Kenmore, Washington . He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born July 22nd, 1943 in Imus, Cavite, but has been a long time resident of this area.
Carlos was preceded in death by his parents Catalino and Remedios Reyes and by his brother and two sisters. He is survived by his spouse, Araceli Reyes of 47 years, son Edwin Reyes, daughters Evangeline Mora and Grace Lataquin. Son-in-laws Rodney Mora and Joseph Lataquin. Grandchildren Jade, Kizzy, Nikki, Kheisha and Kian Reyes, Ivan, Heart and RC Mora
Growing up in the Philippines, he was born a leader. His circle of friends always relied on him and followed him in many ways. He was a very generous person. After high school, he took a radio technician course and Criminology for a few years in Manila. He also helped his mother in her business, distributing rice to customers. He later became a driver for National Power Corporation. For his hard work, he was later promoted as Manager of Security Department of NAPOCOR until his early retirement due to the forthcoming immigration to the US.
In December 1993 he and his wife and daughter Grace moved to Seattle to join his siblings and to pursue a better life to for his family. After a few years, his son Edwin and daughter Eva followed. Carlos worked as an assembler for bags and made name tags for animals, worked at the University Hotel as a dishwasher. He also worked part time providing janitorial services to the Toyota dealership with his sister, Emilita and deceased brother-in-law, Reny. Carlos worked very hard and never missed a day of work. He would wake up at the crack of dawn just to catch the bus. Around 2003 when his grandson Ivan was born, he decided to just stay home and be a home body and take care of his family and grandkids.
Carlos loved his grandkids very much. He is the one who took care of all his grandchildren. They are his pride and joy. Carlos loved to cook, especially for his family. He always loved it when the house was full of people. And he always loved to arrange party's for special occacions/celebrations. He loved to go fishing with friends, gardening, travel, shop for his never ending collective T-shirts, wash cars and making sure they are always clean, but most of all going to the casino with his wife and siblings.
As a fabulous father and provider, great grandfather, wonderful brother, he will be greatly missed and will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for his good manners, his loving, kind and generous nature and amazing public relations. Above all , he was a man of faith.
