Live Event Broadcasting

Evergreen Washelli provides live event broadcasting for services. Being with loved ones at their most difficult time is essential. Unfortunately, certain circumstances do not always allow them to be there. We have a simple solution to allow all family members and friends to be part of the memorial service LIVE via the internet. Family and friends may also view the event at a later date from the privacy of their home.

A video tribute is a perfect way to commemorate a loved one. Our custom designed remembrance documentary DVD combines a sequence of photograhs, paintings, drawings, poems, and videos synchronized to music to capture the story and life of your loved one. Video tributes allow us to create a way to help the families share special moments, recall fond memories and celebrate the life of their loved one. Light a Candle/Post a Heart

For centuries, in almost every religious and secular culture, lighting candles has been a symbol of hope and remembrance. Please light a virtual candle in memory of someone you lost, in hope for someone you know is hurting, or just to send a comforting message to someone special at candles or post a heart.

History: Seattle's Founders

David Denny was a member of the Denny Party, who are generally collectively credited as the founders of Seattle. Though he ultimately underwent bankruptcy, he was a significant contributor to the shape of the city. Roger Sale, in his book Seattle, Past to Present, described him as having been "the pioneer to turn to if one had a plan that would be 'good for Seattle,' and one needed a respectable tone and a willing investor."

At the time of its inception, the area where Evergreen Washelli is located was known as Oak Lake, a full day's carriage ride from downtown via Ballard, Seattle, Washington. David Denny owned land by the lake, and when the old Seattle Cemetery was to become Denny Park he moved the remains of his infant son from there to his property at Oak Lake. What was once Oaklake Cemetery is now the east side of Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park.
