Heart of Gold

We knew her as Barbara, Bobbie, Barb, Mom, Gramma, and Aunt Barbara. This is what we called her. Sometimes we wanted to call her something else, but we never did, because we always loved her and knew she loved us. No matter how long we were with her or how new we were to her – we knew she loved us. She loved us quickly and she loved us unconditionally and we embraced her love and returned her love without question.

She loved children, music, laughing, joking, roadtrips, animals, color, and us.
She enjoyed bowling, TriChem, playing cribbage and card games and many board games and even played softball with her grown kids.
She was great at sales, volunteer work, emotional support, making people laugh, and having fun.
She was like a ‘kid in a candy shop’ - literally - and was an excellent cook.
She knew how to get a job done and have fun doing it.
She believed in God and prayed often.
She strongly believed in standing up for what was right and found her place in her Union.

She will be missed by many and will live on in our hearts.

For Those I Loved and Who Loved Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go,
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears…
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave to you my love.
You can only guess how much
you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
but now it is time I traveled on alone.

So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It is only for awhile that we must part,
so bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away.
For life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see me or touch me, I'll be near...
And if you listen with your heart you'll hear…
All of my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and
"Welcome Home."

If You Could See Me Now

Our prayers have all been answered.
I finally arrived.
The healing that had been delayed
Has now been realized.
No one’s in a hurry,
There’s no schedule to keep.
We’re all enjoying Jesus -
Just sitting at his feet.

If you could see me now –
I’m walking streets of gold.
If you could see me now –
I’m standing tall and whole.
If you could see me now –
You’d know I’ve seen his face.
If you could see me now –
You’d know the pain is erased.

You wouldn’t want me
To ever leave this place.
If you could only see me now.
My light and temporary trials
Have worked out the my good;
To know it brought him glory
When I misunderstood.
Though we’ve had our sorrows
They can never compare;
What Jesus has in store for us
No language can share.

You wouldn’t want me
To ever leave this perfect place.
If you could only see me now.
