Floral Policy

The living beauty of nature is the finest tribute we can pay to our loved ones. To keep the park beautiful and in good taste at all times, we respectfully request and thank you for your cooperation with the regulations contained herein. These regulations are designed to preserve the appearance and dignity of garden and mausoleum areas that mean so much to so many people. Grave, crypt and niche decorations should honor the dead—when they lack beauty, order and neatness, they fall short of this goal.

Funeral Flowers

At the end of the burial process the cemetery grounds staff will place the funeral flowers on or close to the grave. The flowers may be stood up or placed flat depending on the weather conditions, the number of flowers and the amount of space in which to display them. The flowers will remain on the grave 3-5 days.

Memorial Lawn Gardens

  • Cut flowers or potted plants are encouraged throughout the year. Cut flowers may be placed at the gravesite in ground-level cemetery vases, or temporary cone vases, plants up to 8 inches in size should be displayed on the marker to assist with mowing. Due to limited display space we encourage two placements per burial space.
  • Plants and flowers will remain in place until they become wilted, faded or unsightly, at this time they will be removed and recycled.
  • Potted plants and cut flowers can contain fertilizing elements and other materials that may cause rusting. We recommend caution when placing on a bronze or granite memorial as discoloration may result.
  • Artificial flowers are permitted during our non growing season, from November 1st through March 1st. After this time they will be removed and recycled.
  • Seasonal decorations: Christmas-type arrangements can be displayed until January 15th. Tributes for other holidays (e.g. Mother's Day, Easter, Father's Day, and Memorial Day) will be removed one week after the holiday.

Columbarium Decoration

  • Niche flower vases are designed for fresh cut flowers. Artificial flowers are not allowed except as a seasonal decoration (see below).
  • Potted plants in pots up to 6 inches in diameter with a maximum of one plant per niche may be placed on the floor for families with floor level niches. Drip trays are a necessity for all potted plants. When placing your plant care should be taken to avoid risk of a trip hazard for other visitors.
  • Seasonal decorations: Christmas-type arrangements can be displayed until January 15th. Tributes for other holidays (e.g. Mother's Day, Easter, Father's Day, and Memorial Day) will be removed one week after the holiday.

Safety Policy

For the safety of our families and staff we ask that items that may break or fall into the path of a lawn mower not be permitted. Items that have caused damage and concern in the past include glass items, Shepherd's hooks, wind chimes, pinwheels, stuffed animals, toys, grave blankets, homemade markers, figurines, statues, candles, rocks, and photo frames and any items pushed into the ground or hung from a branch All of these items pose a risk of being thrown from the lawn mowers and may cause serious injury. The Digging of holes, planting flowers, shrubs or trees, or placement of glass jars, metal cans, rocks, wooden items, or metal rods on a burial space are can also cause injury and are strongly discouraged.
